Robert McCashin
Executive Chairman
In addition to serving as Executive Chairman for Integrian, Mr. McCashin is also Director for Peerless Manufacturing Inc. and Argon ST. Prior to his Directorship roles, Mr. McCashin was the President, Chairman and CEO of Identix Inc. During his tenure, he moved the company to the NASDAQ and led the acquisition of Visoinics, thus positioning Identix as the worldwide leader in multi-biometric security products. Prior to Identix, Mr. McCashin held various positions over 28 years at Electronic Data Systems (EDS).
His final role at EDS was President and CEO of CENTROBE, the business unit created out of the consolidation of EDS worldwide call centers and database operations. There Mr. McCashin acquired Neodata, and merged several units into CENTROBE. As the world's largest provider of Enterprise Customer Management (ECM) solutions, the wholly-owned subsidiary incorporated loyalty consulting, fulfillment and distribution capabilities, and generated $700M in revenue its first year. With 14,000 employees in 19 countries, the company achieved 1998 revenues of $830M with expected 1999 revenues of $1 billion under Mr. McCashin's leadership. During his tenure at EDS, Mr. McCashin led their Federal Business and has extensive international relations experience both in Europe and in South and Central America.
Mr. McCashin is a graduate of St. Johns University in New York, McCashin served in Vietnam as a USMC 1st Lt. infantry platoon commander and was awarded a Bronze Star for valor.
Dave Barrett
Partner, Polaris Venture Partners
Dave has been with Polaris Venture Partners since May 2000. Previously, Dave served as chief operating officer of Calico. During his tenure, his team realigned the company and drove its position as a leading e-business infrastructure provider through a tenfold revenue increase to more than $40 million and market value of more than $2 .5 billion as one of the top-performing IPOs of 1999.
Dave has also served as senior vice president of worldwide operations for Pure Atria Software Corporation. He also spent more than 11 years with Lotus Development Corporation, where he served as vice president of field sales and services. In that position, Dave led the build-out of the company's global sales & services effort, which helped to establish Lotus and its flagship Lotus Notes product as an industry-defining software standard.
Dave holds a BS in marketing management from the University of Rhode Island.
Peter Durand
CEO, Integrian, Inc.
Pete has more than 15 years' experience in both small and large organizations with success in managing mergers and acquisitions, the handling of departmental and infrastructure integrations on budgets and schedules, and consistently exceeding profit margins. Pete was most recently president and chief operating officer for three years at Entivity, an automation company with 2000+ customers worldwide, including many Fortune 500 companies. Pete held the role of director of E-Business for GE Fanuc, a joint venture business between General Electric and Fanuc of Japan. While there he was an integral part of the executive staff of this $600 million business: recruiting the e-business team, revamping the entire web and IT infrastructure, and coordinating e-business strategies with GE's CIO, CFO and CEO. Prior to GE, Pete worked in several positions at Eaton and Kimberly-Clark in engineering, research, operations and marketing.
Pete holds a BS in industrial engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
John Glushik
Partner, Intersouth Partners
John Glushik is a general partner with Intersouth Partners, one of the most active and experienced early-stage venture funds in the Southeast with more than 80 investments in private companies over the last 20 years. Intersouth manages more than $750 million in seven venture capital limited partnerships, the most recent of which was established in May 2006 and totals $275 million. This fund is the largest venture capital fund in North Carolina and one of the largest early stage funds in the Southeast. John has been actively involved with all of the companies in the Intersouth information technology portfolio, serving as a board member and a board observer. His work covers all aspects of venture investment and portfolio management. He has led multiple venture financings and he has managed a number of successful liquidity events. John is an active member of the Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED), serving on CED's board of directors and executive committee. He serves on the board of the Florida Venture Forum and he has served as co-chair of the AeA Venture Forum. He also serves on the advisory boards of the Entrepreneurs Foundation of the Southeast and Southeast TechInventures. He teaches as an Adjunct Professor at the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina and speaks frequently at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and North Carolina State University. John serves on the Engineering Alumni Council and Devil Fund Board at the School of Engineering at Duke. Prior to Intersouth, John worked as an engineer and consultant in the information technology and aerospace industries. His previous experience includes software development, telecommunications engineering, data communications research and strategic market consulting. He holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering and materials science from Duke, an M.S. in aeronautics and astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
Gregory G. Johnson
Admiral (ret.) U.S. Navy
Admiral Johnson recently completed a distinguished 36-year naval career. He was a naval aviator, and over the years deployed throughout the world in several carriers including USS Independence, Nimitz, Forrestal, Eisenhower and Theodore Roosevelt. He commanded at every level: Squadron, Carrier Air Wing, Carrier Battle Group and Sixth Fleet. He also held several significant staff positions, including Executive Assistant to the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Colin L. Powell; Military Assistant to the Deputy Secretary of Defense, Dr. John Hamre; and Military Assistant to the Secretary of Defense, William S. Cohen.
For the past three years, Admiral Johnson served as commander of U.S. Naval Forces Europe and Africa, and as commander of Allied Forces Southern Europe, where he was responsible for all NATO operations in the Southern and Eastern regions of NATO's area of influence.
Admiral Johnson received his BA in political science from the University of Maine, and is a graduate of the Naval War College Command and Staff Course.
Nadim Barakat,
Managing Director of Credit Suisse
Mr. Barakat has responsibility for managing a number of separate accounts within the CS Private Equity Customized Fund Investment Group, and is part of a team that manages private equity fund investments and co-investments.
Mr. Barakat joined Credit Suisse First Boston in November 2000 through the merger with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he was a Vice President of DLJ Merchant Banking in the Customized Fund Investment Group. Prior to joining DLJ, Mr. Barakat was a founding member of the Bank of Kuwait's private equity group focused on direct investments, co-investments and fund investments. Prior to that, Mr. Barakat worked at Chase Securities in the Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Finance departments, focused on the business services, consumer goods and manufacturing sectors.
Mr. Barakat holds a B.S. in Systems Engineering and Operations Research from the University of Virginia.
A.J. Dalola
President, Semprion Holding, LLC
Mr. Dalola was a co-founder of Integrian in 1999. Prior to his work with Integrian, Mr. Dalola held several research and leadership positions in the telecommunications and computer industry having worked for IBM, Ericsson, EG&G, and ABB.
Having founded several startup companies, Mr. Dalola today manages a real estate investment corporation. He has been awarded multiple U.S. patents and holds a BSEE from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Chris Hegele
Venture Partner, Intersouth Partners, Board Advisor
Chris has been a part of the Southeast's venture capital community for nearly 20 years and is currently a general partner with Kitty Hawk Capital, a venture capital firm in Charlotte, North Carolina that was founded in 1980 and manages $100 million in four venture capital funds. Prior to joining Kitty Hawk in 1984, Chris was with Arthur Andersen & Co. in its Small Business Group. Chris received his MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds a BS in economics from UNC Wilmington. Chris is chairman of the board of Biolex, an Intersouth portfolio company.
Steve Nelson
Partner, Wakefield Group, Board Advisor
Steve joined Wakefield Group in October 1999, after 19 years of executive and general management experience in technology, software and Internet-based businesses. In the last three years prior to his venture capital career, Steve was at Quokka Sports, a digital media company, holding various executive positions. While there, Steve also served as chief executive of a joint venture company, NBC/Quokka Ventures, LLC.
Prior to Quokka, Steve spent more than 14 years at IBM, ultimately becoming vice president and general manager for IBM in San Francisco, where he was responsible for all customers in the 11 western states, all IBM products and services, 800 employees, and $2+ billion in revenue and several hundred million dollars in profit.
Steve received his BS degree in business from Wake Forest University.
Mel Gaceta,
Investment Manager, Motorola Ventures
Mel Gaceta is an Investment Manager of Motorola Ventures, based in Schaumburg, IL. In this role, Mel identifies, executes, and manages strategic minority private equity investments on the behalf of Motorola.
Prior to his current role as Investment Manager, Mel spent 3 1/2 years as the Division Controller for Motorola Ventures where he was responsible for the internal financial management of the group and portfolio, which includes budgeting, valuation and pre/post deal execution financial oversight. Prior to Motorola Ventures, Mel held diverse finance roles in Motorola Credit Corp., Cellular Infrastructure Group, Components Products Group, Personal Communications Sector and most recently in Network Management Group. There he was a Controller and finance team leader in various cellular license bids.
Mel holds a MBA from DePaul University, with a concentration in Finance, and a BS in Accounting from University of Illinois.
Kurt Davis,
Manager, Mitsui-Incubase
Mr. Davis is a Manager located in the Silicon Valley office.
He couples three years of private equity investing experience with two years of entrepreneurial experience. From 2003-2005, he founded China Sports Mobile, a mobile phone game business in Shanghai, China. He worked closely with mobile operators and service providers in China, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and other countries in the region.
Before venturing to China, Mr. Davis worked as an Associate at the GE APC Technology Fund (a JV between GE Equity and APC Asset Management) in Hong Kong which invested in growth stage businesses in the region.
As an Associate, he sourced, assessed, and led due diligence on deals throughout the region. He spent significant time in India, Taiwan, Japan, US, and China assessing opportunities in IT and CRM outsourcing, hardware manufacturing, mobile applications, display screen manufacturing, nanotechnology, telecommunication equipment, and internet businesses. During that time, he was the lead Associate on several successful investments including Patni Computer Systems (NYSE: PTI), New Era Electronics (listed on Taiwan Stock Exchange), and Ritek Display (a JV with GE).
Previous to GE APC, Mr. Davis lived and worked in Osaka, Japan studying Japanese and teaching English. He graduated with his MBA from Duke's Fuqua School of Business and has a B.A. in Economics from Davidson College where he was Captain of the D1 baseball team. He is also a CFA Charterholder. In his spare time, he is a diligent student of both Japanese and Chinese.
He has led Mitsui's investment in and works closely with TVHead, Integrian, and Funmobility.
